Last night (5/9/11) I had the awesome opportunity to meet Charlain Harris on her Dead Reckoning book tour! She was at the Bagdad Theater here in Portland. It was such an honor to meet her! The session mostly consisted of Q&A and then book signing.
My question to Charlain was about the Harper Connely series as it is actually my favorite of hers. She indicated that she does not forsee herself writing anymore of those books (too bad!!). Additionally, though the rumours of CBS picking up the story line for a series was true it isn't going to happen. I have mixed feelings about that since I'm really not a huge fan of True Blood.
Other things she mentioned--some we already knew--the Sookie series will end at book 13 (so only 2 more books to go). She also said that the inspiration for making "Bubba" (Elvis as a vampire) came from watching Men in Black! A very funny story!
It was a great evening and if you ever get a chance to attend her book signing I encourage you to go. She's a total sweetheart and I had a great time!
